ROOFTOP POOLS
To luxuriate by a rooftop pool is a dreamy part of any vacation. This collection is for those who want to carve out time for relaxing, sun-bathing, reading, and/or enjoying a splash in a pool on their holidays. And with so many rooftop pool hotel options in Palma, it is definitely its own category; plus, these pools also come with all-day sun and pretty incredible views.
Hotels with rooftop pools tend to start at around €250 per night, and go upwards from there. If it is your first time in Mallorca, how much time you have for the pool might depend on how much you enjoy walking around Palma and how many day trips to beaches and other towns you would like to take.

Please note that rates are subject to change based on availability, and will also depend on how far in advance you book your stay.

The Hotel Basilica was meticulously restored from an 18th century ‘casal’, or urban mansion. Patio and window shutters, timber beams and stone arches have been gorgeously restored, and traditional earthenware floor tiles contrast the modern upgrades to bedrooms, bathrooms and technology beautifully. The hotel has 38 rooms that are spacious and bright, decorated in soothing tones, with comfortable beds and Juliette patios.
Located in the slightly quieter area near Plaça de Sant Francesc, this hotel is in the same area as the 5-star Sant Francesc Hotel. They both have rooftop pools, and so the views (which include the Cathedral) between the two are comparable, although Hotel Basilica comes in at about half the price per night.
Please note: Hotel Basilica is located in a traffic-restricted zone, you can get authorization from the hotel on check-in that allows guests to circulate with their vehicle to the hotel, but you must exit the area as soon as possible, as it does not give access parking on the street/plaza surrounding the hotel - this is exclusively for residents of the Old Town, even if you get the circulation authorization.

Nakar is the most modern hotel on this list, with 54 sound-proofed, oak-floored rooms, in addition to 5 doubles that have their own patio and hot tub. While I usually prefer to stay in more historic buildings, I think this is an appealing option to consider if you prefer a modern hotel. The rooms have city views, and are spacious, some of which have terraces.
There are a few really redeeming features, like its close proximity to Santa Catalina, as well as its 12-meter infinity pool with a view that includes the ocean, marina, and the Cathedral. They pride themselves on being a technophile's paradise, and offer air conditioning, multiple plug and USB sockets, a Nespresso machine, smart television, mood lighting and sensors.

MHOUSE Hotel Palma is further north than most of the hotels on this list, but it is close to some great cafés, as well as the Mercat de l’Olivar.
In a slightly more peaceful area, it is a 5 minute walk to the transit station and train to Soller, if day trips are a top priority for you. This hotel will also put you close to the start of the shopping strip that leads you all the way through Old Town down to the Cathedral, which would take about 15 - 20 minutes to walk to.
Housed in a more modern white building, it houses 37 bright and fairly spacious rooms, ranging from Juniors to Suites, 11 of which have terraces or balconies. The pool area features what feels like a larger plunge pool.

Located closer to the eastern edge of Palma’s Old Town, Posada Terra Santa is an intimate 16th-century Renaissance palace with Gothic remnants, once owned by Spanish aristocrats.
A local couple, Carmen and Ignacio, stumbled upon the unmaintained building in 2009 and felt compelled to ensure that a piece of history wouldn’t be left to die, and the hotel opened its doors in 2014. Mindful curators, they took on some upgrades for their 10 year anniversary, and the hotel re-opened in early Spring 2024.
The 26 quiet rooms fall under five categories, some with bath tubs and patios, others spread over two floors, or with living rooms. The new design is soft and lovely, with decor to match, including a furniture update to a more plush and rounded aesthetic. There is also a petite rooftop pool, rental bikes, and the old grain store of the building has been converted into a small spa.
It might be a little bit tricky to find without a map, but once you are greeted by the serene, leafy courtyard, you will feel welcomed.
