Our story
Hello, my name is Daria Kosicka, and I am the founder of Weekday Studio.
In addition to living in Palma and personally being able to recommend to you the places that I enjoy most, I have also done the deep dives into the internet, so you don’t have to. I researched the best blogs and travel resources before I moved to Palma, and my enjoyment of the culture and lifestyle here continues to keep me connected.
For me, travel research feels like digging for precious gems, and I genuinely find delight in the process of discovery - but I also know that it can be quite time intensive. There are what can feel like an endless amount of resources available to us, and to really get the best advice, I feel like you need to cross reference multiple sources, and then go and experience them for yourself. This is the type of research I love to immerse myself into, and it’s the kind that will save you hours upon hours of doing it yourself.
My favorite type of holiday is one where I know I can confidently plan ahead (especially when it comes to eating well), and one that also leaves room to stay open and go with the flow. For me, it’s a balance of knowing I have special plans I can get excited for, combined with a curious sense of exploration about how the rest of my time may unfold.
I like knowing in advance what and where the top choices for food, drinks, experiences, and shopping are. That way, when the mood strikes, I already know where I can go. Or, during my wanders into whatever area I find myself in, I already know what is worth popping into.
I like dining at and appreciating restaurants that highlight a culture’s local cuisine with elevated takes on traditional dishes, and also being open to trying cuisines that may be new and emerging to the area - we are lucky to find a global gastronomy scene within many cities.
I like shopping at and supporting local businesses, whether that’s specific to the city, or at least to the country, for the types of keepsakes you may not be able to find anywhere else - these make for the most meaningful souvenirs, and the ones that will transport you back to that place and the feeling you had upon discovering them.
Encouraged by friends, this concept emerged as a way to share my most loved places and sincere advice. Curated with the same level of care I take for a close friend’s visit, my intention is to guide you around, with a sense of ease.
These collections are intended to create the most memorable experiences. While you will still need to make some choices based on my suggestions, my hope is that they will allow you to settle into a slower pace upon arriving.
