NYC: one of many adventures + the first of my mega maps

In February of 2015, I was invited to join my dear friend Lauren, a talented hairdresser and Bumble & Bumble ambassador to New York, where she was doing hair at NYFW.

My job was to figure out all the places where we were going to eat. And I made it my mission to research everywhere and anywhere we could possibly go, from cafés to fine dining. To capture it all, I created a multi layered map, and saved each place with its own unique and colourful icon. The title of the map makes me laugh now, exclamation mark included!

I had made simple Google maps lists for trips leading up to this one, with all the places I wanted to make note of in each city saved on separate map lists. This was my first time using My Google Maps (a fave tool), and I gleefully realized I could create one singular map, with each place I could ever want to visit in NYC.

Check out the serious legend I created by clicking on the icon with the small arrow, next to the map title on the top left. To make the map larger, and easier to navigate, click on the rectangular icon on the top right.

I’ve included some photos of our time together below (I had to pull them from Instagram, so forgive the grainy and filtered quality of images posted in the earlier Instagram days, ha!). What a great little trip down memory lane. Thank you for inviting me along with you, Lo; and for indulging with me, in our exploration of some of NYC’s best places at the time ♥️👯

Although many of the NYC staples I included are still relevant, this map is likely a bit outdated now, and some places may have closed; but, feel free to browse, and use it, if you wish.
