The Best Spots and Bars for Drinks in Palma for 2024

There is definitely no shortage of excellent wine and drink menus when dining out in Mallorca. But, Palma also has some top choices that focus solely on wine and cocktails, if you are looking for somewhere special for a drink or two.

You will also find some excellent dining options at a few of these establishments, which is worth taking into consideration. Where you choose to go depends on what ambiance you are looking for, but you will find welcoming vibes all around.

I would book dinner reservations pretty far in advance for everywhere you want to go, places book up quickly, and some have more limited seating. Even if you are wanting to go only for drinks, booking ahead would be a wise choice.

Nord Palma

Mo 5-10pm; Tu & We 4-11:30pm; Th-Sa noon - 11:30pm; closed Sundays

🌞🌛🇪🇸🍴🍷

Bar La Sang is a cozy wine bar from a young and forward thinking team. For a lively, local and laidback vibe, I would come here. The staff are super warm and friendly, and the space is filled with bottles, local art, and a mishmash of seating, which adds to the charm. They offer an amazing selection of wines, and they also have a wine shop.

There is also a menu of super fresh and tasty Mediterranean inspired snacks and small share plates - plus, they often collaborate with chefs for pop-up dinners (and sometimes for a more Mediterranean inspired global menu), so you can expect something new here often.

Sala de Personal

Modern Mediterranean | Sol Repsol

*unique experience with cocktail pairings

In between Santa Catalina and Palma

Dinner only; Open 8pm - 2am; open Th through Sa

🌛🇪🇸🍴🍹

This is a super unique concept to Palma. Opened mid-2023 and tucked away down a stairwell inside of the cocktail bar Ginbo is Sala de Personal.

With two tasting menu formats that change often and depend on what’s freshest at the Mercat de l’Olivar; they serve either four or six dishes paired with low alcohol cocktails to start. The space later transitions to a regular cocktail bar. Expect red neon lighting, and really fresh food.

With only room for 14 at this 2024 Sol Repsol establishment, make a reso.

East of Old Town Palma, in the medieval area

Terrace is open 10:30am - 10pm

🌞🌛🍴🍷

Enjoying a great rooftop view is one of the best feelings on a vacation. The ocean and city views from the Es Princep Rooftop Bar are pretty unbeatable. You can also dine on the rooftop, or visit Zaranda, the hotel restaurant.

A walk through medieval streets of East Palma will get you to the rooftop of the Es Princep Hotel. It feels a bit more removed from the city, which makes it have that special tucked away quality, a hidden gem.

Reservations are recommended.

DOOR 13

Speakeasy

*unique underground bar for live music

WebsiteInstagramGoogle Maps

Old Town

Open 8pm - 2am; closed Mondays & Tuesdays

🌛🍷🍹🎶

DOOR 13 is a 1920s time capsule that’s been turned into a speakeasy. Located underground in a historic building in the Old Town, it is dark and romantic, usually has a different live band every night, and serves classic cocktails with clever twists.

With a secret speakeasy feel, it’s not as obvious to find (no signage at all, so use google maps), and the door opens only to those who know the entry code (which you can seek out via their social media), get lucky by buzzing the bell and getting a response, or have managed to book a table in advance.

Santa Catalina

Mo to Th 4:30pm - 2am; Fr to Su 4pm - 2am

🌞🌛🍹

A top cocktail spot in Santa Catalina, Agabar is on the pedestrian-only street of Carrer de la Fàbrica. This is an ideal spot before or after dinner, the cocktail menu is extensive and original.

Enjoy your drinks on the car-free street patio (a people watching dream), or in the beautifully designed interior. If you come early, order their guacamole (it is good, and they will eventually run out).

Central Palma

🌞🌛🍴🍷

The Sky Area at Hotel Almudaina is a more casual rooftop destination. And with a view across the city, towards the cathedral and marina, makes it one of the most enviable views in Palma.

You can also eat here, if you are keen for a meal. Their 3 course weekly lunch menu, for less than €24, is a really great value.

Reservations are suggested.

🌞🌛🍹

Bar Nicolás is a great spot for both afternoon and evening drinks. With patio and indoor seating, this is a perfect spot for a refreshing day drink, or before or after dinner drinks. Plaça del Mercat is one of my favorite squares, and this bar is an easy one to pop into when the mood strikes.
